Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
• Triages patients in the 3-bay triage area, making timely and accurate clinical decisions
• Support and assist in C-sections, including surgical scrub duties when needed
• Titrate and manage infusions such as pitocin, magnesium sulfate and insulin safely and confidently
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care following NRP and STABLE protocols
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (OB, NNP, anesthesia)
• Educate patients and families, provide discharge teaching and promote high patient satisfaction
• Step in to float areas as needed (NICU feeders/growers, med/surg, PCU, ICU, ED) to support the broader team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (ND licensure or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery / LDRP clinical experience (required)
• BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Proven ability to titrate drips (pitocin, magnesium, insulin) and manage obstetric emergencies
• Comfortable with surgical scrub and assisting in C-sections
• Experience with EPIC charting and fetal monitoring systems (GE/Corometrics familiarity a plus)
• Willingness to float occasionally and work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted
• BSN not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring and interpretation skills (AWHONN fetal monitoring best practices)
• Neonatal resuscitation skills (NRP) and newborn stabilization (STABLE)
• Skilled in obstetric medication management and hemorrhage interventions
• Ability to place telemetry/monitoring patches and read tele/monitor strips in Phase 1 recovery
• Excellent triage assessment skills and quick clinical decision-making
• Team-oriented communication with OB, anesthesia, NNPs and nursing colleagues
• Comfortable using EPIC for documentation, orders and handoffs
