Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care during assigned shift
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols
• Coordinate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student health
• Respond promptly to urgent situations and escalate to providers as needed
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete shift handoffs
• Promote preventive health measures and educate students and staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Previous pediatric, school health, or community nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with medication administration and basic emergency response
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility clearance requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a school setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and triage with a calm, organized approach
• Medication administration and charting accuracy
• Familiarity with school health protocols and immunization documentation
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy environment
