Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER
• Administer medications, IV therapies and urgent treatments following policy
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and professionally
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
• Participate in bedside handoffs and safety checks to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in California required
• Minimum ER clinical experience preferred for per diem assignments
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required by facility
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screening
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing procedures and triage principles
• IV therapy, medication administration and wound care
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize multiple patients
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Team-focused attitude and effective interdisciplinary communication
