Shift Type: Rotating variable shifts including days and evenings with weekend coverage; 4-variable shift schedule (exact start/end times vary by assignment)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform blood bank testing and maintain accurate transfusion records
- Operate hematology, clinical chemistry, and microbiology instruments and run routine analyses
- Prepare and set up microbiology specimens and perform culture workups as needed
- Collect patient specimens occasionally through phlebotomy with attention to patient comfort
- Document results, troubleshoot instrument issues, and escalate critical findings promptly
- Follow CLIA and facility policies to ensure quality and compliance in all testing
- Collaborate with care teams to provide timely lab results that impact patient care
Qualifications
- Current ASCP or HEW national registration as MT or MLT (required)
- MT or MLT credential (MT preferred; MLT acceptable with appropriate registration)
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology, or an Associate’s degree in laboratory technology with appropriate registration
- Meet CLIA 88 laboratory testing personnel qualifications (if applicable)
- Minimum of 1 year hospital laboratory experience preferred
- Phlebotomy skills and comfort performing occasional draws
- Familiarity with hospital policies, quality systems, and proper specimen handling
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology (preferred)
- OR Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, biological science or medical laboratory technology plus MLT registration

- Hematology principles and instrument operation
- Clinical chemistry testing and calibration
- Microbiology set-ups and culture techniques
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection best practices
