Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts (4x10). Possible shift times: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM, or 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Day shifts with on-call rotation: 1 call per 4-week schedule (weekday call covers end of shift through 7:00 AM next morning; weekend call is 24 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM).

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field for a high-volume operating room performing complex and varied cases
- Scrub and assist on ENT, GYN, Urology, General, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiothoracic and transplant procedures
- Set up and assist with robot-assisted (DaVinci Xi) cases and support robotic teams efficiently
- Perform perioperative patient care tasks, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile technique
- Collaborate with surgeons, nursing leadership, and the perioperative team to streamline case flow
- Respond to call within the required 30-minute response time when scheduled on-call
- Complete required charting in Cerner and participate in unit-specific orientation and competency checks
Qualifications
- Washington State surgical technologist registration (active and valid at time of submission) — no pending licenses
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of OR scrubbing experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
- Hands-on experience with DaVinci Xi robot-assisted surgery (Gyn, Uro, General) required
- Demonstrated competence in ENT procedures (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, thyroid/parathyroid)
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes when scheduled and comfortable with occasional extended/complex cases
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in sterile technique and perioperative patient care
- Proficient scrubbing skills across multiple surgical specialties
- Experience with robot-assisted (DaVinci Xi) setups and instrumentation
- Familiarity with Cerner charting and electronic documentation
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume OR environment (50-65 cases/day across multiple suites)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability for cross-floor coverage
