Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (office hours) with 24-hour on-call coverage during weekdays; rotating 24-hour weekend on-call coverage (call ratio 1:4) — rotating day/night coverage via PerfectServe

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care including prenatal visits, labor management and postpartum follow-up
- Manage labor & delivery including vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, VBACs and cesarean sections
- Interpret fetal heart tracings and perform NST/CST/FSE assessments for safe fetal monitoring
- Perform and interpret Level I OB ultrasounds and review scans with experienced sonographers
- Perform outpatient and inpatient gynecologic procedures including IUD placement/removal, colposcopy, LEEP and minor surgical cases
- Manage ectopic pregnancies and gynecologic surgical cases (laparoscopic and open) as needed
- Document care thoroughly in the EPC EMR and coordinate care with midwives, APPs and support staff
- Provide timely, professional on-call coverage via PerfectServe and collaborate with the team for seamless patient transitions
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Active medical license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one in a timely manner
- Demonstrated experience with labor & delivery, cesarean section, VBAC and operative gynecology
- Comfortable interpreting fetal monitoring (NST/CST/FSE) and Level I OB ultrasound reads
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, midwives and advanced practice providers and to manage a 1:4 call schedule
Education
- MD or DO; completion of OB/GYN residency
Knowledge & Skills
- Vaginal delivery and cesarean section management
- VBAC counseling and management
- Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
- OB ultrasound interpretation (Level I/screening) and working with sonographers
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- Office and operative gynecology: IUDs, colposcopy, LEEP, cystoscopy, laparoscopic and open procedures
- Ectopic pregnancy and other emergent OB/GYN management
- Proficiency with EMR systems (EPC) and strong documentation practices
- Call management and triage via PerfectServe
