Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized critical care to ICU/CCU patients using evidence-based nursing principles
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and cardiac rhythms to guide timely interventions
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support to optimize patient breathing
- Administer medications safely (IV, oral, subcutaneous) and report adverse reactions per policy
- Perform phlebotomy, IV/vascular access procedures, and maintain catheter and tubing function
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
- Respond to life-saving situations confidently using ACLS/BLS protocols and critical thinking
- Document patient status, interventions and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — compact license accepted
- Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Critical care (ICU/CCU) experience in a hospital setting
- Verification of suicide prevention training as required for compact licensure
- Ability to enroll/confirm demographic data via Nursys e-Notify
- Proof of legal right to work in the United States
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong cardiac monitoring and interpretation skills
- Hands-on experience with hemodynamic monitoring and central line care
- Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support knowledge
- Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
- Skilled in patient assessment, diagnostic test interpretation and lab specimen collection
- Patient education and family communication skills
- Comfortable with electronic monitoring displays and documentation systems
