Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess patients to develop individualized treatment plans that restore mobility and independence
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve strength, balance, coordination, and overall function
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve the best outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, safety strategies, and injury prevention
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with facility and state guidelines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapist (PT) license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered depending on the setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a patient-focused mindset
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited Physical Therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and treatment planning
- Therapeutic interventions to improve mobility and function
- Patient and caregiver education techniques
- Clinical documentation and compliance with state/facility standards
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and treatment goals
