Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely testing across core lab areas as a CLS generalist
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot clinical laboratory instruments and analyzers
• Follow quality control, calibration, and documentation procedures to ensure reliable results
• Process and handle patient specimens with attention to chain of custody and specimen integrity
• Communicate critical results and collaborate with clinicians to support patient care
• Contribute to a culture of safety and compliance with CLIA/CAP and facility policies
• Participate in competency assessments, continuing education, and team training activities

Qualifications

• Current California CLS or MLS license required
• CLS Generalist experience covering core lab areas (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, urinalysis) preferred
• TB clearance completed within the past 12 months required
• Prior clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
• Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field, or equivalent clinical laboratory training

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with clinical lab instrumentation and point-of-care devices
• Knowledge of quality control, proficiency testing, and troubleshooting lab assays
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic result reporting
• Understanding of safety practices, infection control, and regulatory requirements
• Strong specimen handling, labeling, and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload during busy shifts
