Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Night 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Night-focused assignment noted; schedule includes every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation. Manager-assigned block scheduling (schedule posted about 6 weeks in advance); occasional float to ER as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications safely and manage IV/infusion pumps with confidence
- Titrate drips per protocol (insulin, heparin, Levophed and set-rate drips like amiodarone)
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and ECG strips and document findings
- Manage respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow devices and Hamilton C1 ventilator support as needed
- Document care accurately in MEDITECH and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient transitions and quality outcomes
- Provide compassionate swing bed and med-surg care, supporting patient recovery and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit) and eligible to work the assignment
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NIHSS required; TNCC required if functioning as ER nurse
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (med-surg/acute care preferred)
- Confident skills in assessments, infusion pump management, medication administration and drip titration
- Comfortable reading telemetry/ECG strips and using Mindray monitors
- Experience in critical access or rural facility settings is a strong plus; first-time travelers are welcome
- Team player with strong communication and reliability
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted
- BSN not required for this role
- 12 hours of facility orientation required
Knowledge & Skills
- Med-Surg nursing and patient assessment expertise
- IV/infusion management and infusion pump competency
- Medication administration and drip titration experience
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG strip interpretation
- Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system
- Experience with Mindray monitors and Hamilton C1 ventilator operation
- Respiratory care skills: CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen management
- Strong teamwork, communication and bedside leadership
