Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct nursing care to a diverse med/surg patient population
• Assess patients, monitor status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Act as a confident team player, supporting colleagues during busy periods and handoffs
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and documentation standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Colorado license or compact RN license preferred)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing (prior med/surg experience preferred)
• Comfort and ability to work the 6-on/8-off night rotation
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability in a rural hospital environment
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med/surg assessment and care planning skills
• Proficiency with medication administration and documentation
• Ability to triage and prioritize in a busy, varied patient environment
• Team-based approach to patient care and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Adaptability to rural hospital workflows and a wide variety of patient needs
