Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process to deliver patient-centered outcomes
• Perform thorough clinical assessments and document findings clearly and concisely
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with physician orders
• Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge to promote recovery and understanding
• Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise co-workers to ensure safe, efficient care
• Maintain equipment and supplies readiness and report malfunctions promptly
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold unit safety and service standards

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
• Current CPR certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Previous Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to make independent decisions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced ED

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in clinical assessment and the nursing process
• Skilled in medication/treatment administration and nursing documentation
• Familiarity with AIDET and TeamSTEPPS communication frameworks
• Strong patient/family education capabilities and compassionate bedside manner
• Quality improvement mindset, safety awareness and good delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving abilities
