Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care across Med-Surg, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro and Step-Down ICU units
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care
• Administer medications and treatments following approved techniques, policies and the state Nurse Practice Act
• Document care accurately and timely according to standards of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support the patients plan of care
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
• Escalate concerns using critical thinking to promote patient safety and a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license (required)
• CPR certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro and Step-Down ICU
• Extensive cardiac care experience is required
• Comfort with floating between units and collaborating with diverse care teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in the nursing process and clinical documentation
• Strong medication administration skills and adherence to standards
• Ability to develop and execute individualized patient plans of care
• Critical thinking focused on patient safety and escalation
• Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and shared governance
• Patient education and family instruction skills
