Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function with thoughtful, evidence-based evaluations
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that make measurable differences in patients' lives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Document progress clearly and efficiently to support continuity of care and discharge planning
- Educate patients, families and staff to empower better communication and safer swallowing strategies
- Adapt interventions for varied populations and settings with creativity and clinical judgment
Qualifications
- Active California speech-language pathology license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
- Clinical experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations preferred
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, including dysphagia management experience
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate patient-centered approach
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree)
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and/or state licensure as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in speech, language, cognition and swallowing evaluation and intervention
- Comfortable using standardized assessments and developing functional goals
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary care models and discharge planning
- Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning to support patient progress
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse needs and cultural backgrounds
