Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and set up surgical instruments according to the surgeon's pick sheet
• Safely handle and pass instruments during scheduled and emergency surgical cases
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and provide timely instrument support to keep cases flowing
• Assist with clerical assignments and documentation related to surgical procedures
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the facility’s mission, vision, and values
• Adapt to pressure assignments and ensure patient safety during high-stress situations
• Coordinate with department personnel, medical staff, and vendor representatives to support case needs

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program (required)
• Current ORT certification (required)
• Current BCLS certification (required)
• Current operating room (OR) experience is essential
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical teams and vendors
• Comfortable handling clerical tasks and maintaining confidentiality
• Able to perform well under pressure and adapt to urgent case demands

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (certificate or diploma)

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and strict adherence to aseptic principles
• Surgical instrument setup and accurate instrument counts
• Proficient surgical instrumentation handling during cases
• Operating Room (OR) workflow and case coordination
• Strong communication skills with clinical staff and external reps
• Attention to detail, organization, and reliability under pressure
