Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI scans using GE HDXT 16.0 and 23.0 systems to support accurate diagnoses
• Position patients safely and comfortably while following established safety and imaging protocols
• Collaborate with a tech aide or fellow MRI technologist; ensure seamless team handoffs
• Manage a patient load efficiently (approximately 9 patients per shift) while maintaining care standards
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records in the facility’s systems
• Respond to on-call needs and assist with after-midnight coverage when required
• Adhere to all facility policies, infection control practices, and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years current MRI experience (required)
• ARRT (MR) certification (required)
• Active Massachusetts state radiologic technologist license (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Hands-on experience with GE HDXT MRI systems (required)
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Reliable transportation (traveler must have own vehicle) and permanent address included in profile
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and participate in on-call rotation
• Provide a supervisory signed reference from within the past two years

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of MRI safety and patient positioning
• Proficiency operating GE HDXT 16.0 and 23.0 MRI scanners
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse and electronic health record workflows
• Strong patient communication and bedside manner
• Ability to follow imaging protocols and troubleshoot common scanner issues
• Documentation accuracy, QA practices and attention to detail
• Teamwork skills — collaborating effectively with tech aides and other imaging staff
• Comfort with variable, weekend-heavy schedules and on-call responsibilities
