Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic X-ray equipment and deliver high-quality diagnostic images for inpatient and outpatient care
• Process and evaluate radiographic images to ensure clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic usefulness
• Use teleradiology and fax equipment to transmit images and collaborate with remote radiologists
• Apply radiation safety principles and follow infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support timely patient diagnosis and care
• Document procedures accurately in the patient record and maintain clear communication with care teams
• Perform routine equipment checks and report or escalate maintenance issues promptly
• Bring cultural respect and sensitivity to work with Navajo, Hopi, and other local communities

Qualifications

• Arizona State Radiology License (R) required
• ARRT (R) Certification required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Completion of radiology training from an AMA-approved school required
• Minimum of 3 years of radiologic technologist experience
• Fingerprinting submitted and cleared prior to start (mandatory)
• Experience with teleradiology and fax equipment required
• Ability to work night shifts and provide compassionate care in a culturally diverse setting

Education

• Completion of radiology training from an AMA-approved school of Radiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of radiography and radiographic image processing
• Proficiency operating X-ray and digital imaging equipment
• Familiarity with teleradiology workflows and image transmission
• Understanding of radiation safety, patient positioning, and exposure techniques
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and basic troubleshooting of imaging systems
• Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness when working with Native communities
