Shift Type: Ongoing coverage beginning February 23, 2026; Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; days to be scheduled (coverage includes Feb 23 and 24 and continued day coverage; schedule primarily weekday day shifts)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $385 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive hospital radiology coverage, including ED and ICU imaging — your reads keep patient flow moving
- Rapidly interpret stroke CTs and activate appropriate protocols to support acute stroke care
- Perform image-guided procedures and bedside IR interventions such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tube placement, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, and chest tube placement
- Carry out percutaneous biopsies (CT- and US-guided) including thyroid, lung, breast and other tissue biopsies
- Staff outpatient Building 4 when scheduled for contrasted CTs, MRI studies, and breast biopsy procedures
- Collaborate with radiology nurses, techs, and the regional group that handles overflow and after-hours reads to ensure continuity of care
- Document studies and procedures accurately in Cerner and participate in timely communication with clinical teams
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Radiology residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology; Interventional Radiology fellowship or strong IR procedural experience preferred
- Proven procedural skills — able to perform lumbar punctures, biopsies, drains/centesis, chest tubes, nephrostomy tube placement and similar IR procedures
- Comfortable with acute care imaging workflows (stroke CT interpretation, ED and ICU studies) — this is a dealbreaker if absent
- Experience working with Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment (approx. ~50 studies/day and 4–6 procedures/day typical)
- Willingness to participate in both inpatient hospital coverage and scheduled outpatient imaging blocks
Education
- MD or DO (Radiology residency completed)
- Interventional Radiology fellowship preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpretation skills across CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray
- Expertise in stroke CT assessment and acute neuroimaging decision-making
- Proficiency in image-guided biopsy and drain techniques (CT and US guided)
- Familiarity with common IR procedures and managing procedural complications
- Effective communication with ED, ICU and surgical teams
- Comfort navigating Cerner for ordering, documenting and reporting
