Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care to a small population of residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to facility policy
- Perform ongoing assessments and monitor resident condition, escalating changes to the care team as needed
- Document care and observations clearly in the charting system to support continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized care plans
- Support activities of daily living and promote resident independence whenever possible
- Maintain infection control standards and uphold safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN license in New Mexico
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Comfort caring for a small census (approximately 1 to 30 residents) and adapting to varied resident needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
- Local candidates preferred due to facility requirements
Education
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential; High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate documentation
- Basic wound care and resident assessment skills
- Familiarity with electronic health record charting
- Infection control practices and safety awareness
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with residents and families
