Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in accordance with care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Assess and monitor patient status, documenting changes and reporting concerns promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and families about care plans and promote patient independence
- Maintain compliance with facility protocols, infection control, and safety standards
- Contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
- Previous LPN experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
- Local candidates only (position is restricted to local hires)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a care team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program or equivalent vocational nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and wound care basics
- Skilled in clinical assessment and documenting patient care accurately
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic computer skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy shifts
- Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety principles
- Professional bedside manner and effective interpersonal skills
