Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care thoroughly
- Perform routine assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Support residents with activities of daily living to promote dignity and independence
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and facility staff to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain clear, timely charting to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Contribute to a positive, safe environment through adherence to policies and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential — required
- Valid Vermont LPN license or ability to practice in Vermont (local-only assignment)
- Demonstrated ability to work extended day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Strong communication skills and a resident-first attitude
- BLS/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN (Practical Nurse) program
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Basic patient assessment and recognition of clinical changes
- Skilled at supporting activities of daily living with respect and empathy
- Clear verbal and written communication with residents, families, and team members
- Familiarity with electronic charting/EMR systems is helpful
