Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans that restore function and independence
• Deliver hands-on physical therapy interventions and evidence-based modalities to meet patient goals
• Document progress thoroughly and timely in the patient record, ensuring clarity and continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care within the facility
• Provide patient and caregiver education focused on safety, mobility and long-term function
• Maintain equipment, follow infection control and facility safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience in physical therapy practice; prior correctional, medical-surgical, or rehab experience a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and comply with site onboarding requirements
• Comfort working in a correctional facility environment and following institutional policies

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's in Physical Therapy (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques
• Proficient in developing measurable treatment goals and progress notes
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, mobility aids and safe transfer techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols and facility regulations
