Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients (up to a 1:3 ratio)
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and responses to treatment
• Collaborate with Family Birthplace staff, respiratory therapists, and IV therapy team for coordinated care
• Float to Med/Surg or Post-Partum when needed while maintaining safe standards of care
• Utilize Meditech Expanse (when available) to chart and communicate patient information
• Participate in required orientation and follow facility safety and infection control policies
• Respond promptly to emergencies using panic-button/security processes and established protocols

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required (must be uploaded with profile)
• Agency Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) must be included with agency submissions
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (must be uploaded)
• Minimum 3 years of current pediatric nursing experience (required)
• Adult Med-Surg experience preferred to support float responsibilities
• Skills Checklist Pediatric and Skills Checklist Medical Surgical current within 1 year (required)
• Must have own reliable vehicle and include permanent address in profile
• Dependable travel nurse with minimal RTO (no call-outs allowed for this small unit)

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical care skills for non-ICU patients
• Experience with family-centered care and rooming-in practices
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals to support float assignments
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse strongly preferred
• IV therapy and respiratory support coordination
• Ability to manage a small census and maintain patient safety at a 1:3 ratio
• Clear documentation practices and adherence to policy and state licensure requirements
