Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room during a wide variety of cases, ensuring patient safety and smooth workflow
• Assist perioperative teams across endoscopy, general, ortho, neuro, urology, vascular and bariatric surgeries
• Maintain sterile technique and manage instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout procedures
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to anticipate needs and streamline care
• Support onboarding and precepting of newer staff and travelers when assigned
• Document perioperative care accurately in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse where applicable)
• Adhere to facility policies and contribute to a culture focused on patient safety and quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at profile upload
• Minimum 3+ years current Operating Room (OR) circulate experience
• Endoscopy experience required
• Experience with general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, urology, vascular and bariatric cases
• Active American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification required
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Traveler must have their own vehicle and provide permanent address at submission
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years and a current skills checklist (OR Circulate current to 1 year) required

Education

• Active Massachusetts RN licensure (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge and sterile technique
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and instruments
• Proficient documentation and charting in electronic health records (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-paced OR settings
• Ability to anticipate procedural needs and maintain situational awareness
• Comfort with floating between surgical sites and precepting responsibilities
