Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized MRI procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and ED patients of all ages
• Prepare and educate patients for exams, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety
• Verify physician orders and consult with radiologists as needed to ensure exam accuracy
• Administer contrast media and follow age-related protocols and safety procedures
• Adhere to MRI safety standards and maintain ARRT professional standards
• Evaluate MRI images for technical quality and perform necessary image adjustments
• Operate, warm up, calibrate, and perform quality checks on MRI equipment per manufacturer guidelines
• Assist radiologists with MR procedures and support departmental supervisory functions when assigned
• Operate hospital computer and PACS systems and report equipment malfunctions promptly
• Perform routine quality control and equipment maintenance tasks to ensure consistent image quality

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent GE MRI experience required
• ARRT certification required (AMRIT will not be considered)
• BLS required
• Demonstrated adherence to MRI safety protocols and patient-centered communication
• Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with GE MRI systems and MRI imaging protocols
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety and contrast administration procedures
• Skill in patient preparation, positioning, and age-appropriate care
• Image evaluation and quality control expertise
• Familiarity with equipment operation, warm-up, calibration, and basic maintenance
• Comfortable using hospital computer systems and PACS
• Ability to assist radiologists and communicate findings or technical issues clearly
