Roles & Responsibilities

• Educate and mentor perioperative staff in OR circulation specifically for C-section procedures, ensuring best practices and patient safety
• Design, deliver, and evaluate hands-on education and simulation for perinatal teams to strengthen OR-L&D collaboration
• Assess competency, maintain up-to-date skills checklists for educator and labor & delivery functions, and document progress
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams to standardize workflows and improve clinical outcomes
• Provide supervisory-level guidance and act as a clinical resource during C-sections and complex perinatal situations
• Ensure compliance with AHA and facility standards by verifying ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications are current

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years current RN Educator experience in the perinatal field (required)
• Proven experience educating staff on OR circulation for C-sections (required) — straight L&D bedside-only RNs will not be considered
• Current Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile and in-hand prior to submission)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; higher degree accepted
• Active American Heart Association certifications: ACLS and BLS, plus Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — must be in-hand and uploaded at profile submission
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years required
• Must provide perm address at profile upload and have reliable personal transportation

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree or higher in nursing or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of perinatal nursing, labor & delivery processes, and C-section workflows
• Expertise in OR circulation for obstetric surgery and the ability to teach those practices effectively
• Strong educator skills: curriculum development, simulation facilitation, competency assessment, and documentation
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EHR systems (preferred)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to manage credentialing requirements and maintain up-to-date certifications
