Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patients with mental health and substance use disorders using evidence-based practice
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate behavioral health and substance abuse treatment
• Deliver clear, timely documentation and participate in care planning and case review
• Provide crisis assessment and stabilization as needed, prioritizing patient safety
• Support continuity of care by communicating treatment recommendations to onsite staff and community providers

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completed residency training in Psychiatry
• Active and unrestricted California medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry preferred
• Experience or interest in treating mental health and substance use disorders
• Ability to work effectively in a structured facility setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Valid DEA registration or ability to obtain (as required for prescribing duties)

Education

• MD or DO in Psychiatry (completed residency in Psychiatry required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric treatments
• Experience with assessment and treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders
• Skilled communicator who documents clearly and collaborates with clinical teams
• Ability to perform risk assessments and manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
• Familiarity with behavioral health systems and care coordination
