Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for school-aged children
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans that support classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy, small group sessions, and classroom-based consultation
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare clear reports for IEP meetings
- Recommend and train on assistive technology and adaptive strategies to maximize independence
- Support transitions and provide discharge planning with a focus on student success
Qualifications
- Occupational Therapy (OT) credential or certification as indicated in posting
- Current or eligible Washington state OT licensure (preferred to be active prior to start)
- Experience working with school-aged children, special education teams, or in pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and school staff
- Valid background clearance and any district-specific requirements for working in schools
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or from an accredited OT program (as required for licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in pediatric OT assessment and intervention
- Knowledge of IEP process and educational accommodations
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Proficient documentation and progress tracking skills
- Collaborative mindset and ability to consult with classroom staff
- Time management to balance caseload, documentation, and meetings
