Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes and acting promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient-centered plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve quality, safety and patient experience
• Support a smooth handoff during shift change to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine or compact nursing license where applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred; new graduates welcome to apply with strong clinical skills
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization and time management abilities
• Able to work independently during overnight shifts and collaborate with oncoming teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with EHR charting and accurate documentation practices
• Excellent communication with patients, families and care teams
• Ability to triage effectively and respond in urgent situations
• Teamwork, flexibility and a patient-centered mindset
