Shift Type: Monday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day); alternating coverage to provide Mon-Fri coverage (2 days one week, 3 days the next)
Hours per Week: 16
Candidate Pay Rate: $182 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality primary care to the assigned adult patient population in a correctional setting
- Conduct thorough histories and physical exams, diagnose conditions, and create evidence-based treatment plans
- Manage chronic diseases and acute illnesses with a focus on patient safety and continuity of care
- Prescribe and manage medications responsibly, including appropriate documentation
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with nursing and specialty services to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and complete required clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and clinical policy initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent primary care training
- Active, unrestricted California medical license required
- DEA registration or ability to obtain DEA registration
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Clinical experience in primary care; prior correctional health or institutional experience is a strong plus
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of adult primary care principles and chronic disease management
- Ability to perform effective patient assessments and make timely clinical decisions
- Skilled in patient-centered communication and culturally sensitive care
- Proficient documentation practices and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Understanding of infection control, medication management, and safety protocols in institutional settings
- Comfortable triaging and coordinating care in a fast-paced clinical environment
