Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during exams and procedures, anticipating instruments and needs
- Prepare operatories and ensure instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use
- Manage patient charting and documentation accurately and timely
- Provide patient comfort, education, and pre/post-op instructions with professionalism
- Coordinate with the team and follow facility-specific protocols to maintain efficient clinic flow
- Participate in the one-week orientation and adapt to CDCR facility procedures as required
Qualifications
- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (required)
- Comfortable and available for a full-time Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- CDCR orientation/experience preferred — one week of orientation is part of the assignment
- Clinical dental assisting experience (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Chairside assisting and familiarity with common dental procedures
- Infection control and instrument sterilization best practices
- Accurate charting and basic patient record management
- Ability to follow facility-specific policies and maintain professionalism in a secure environment
- Patient education and compassionate interaction skills
