Shift Type: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Day). Training: Wednesday-Sunday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM for 2 weeks; training hours/days may vary. Must be flexible.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to patients in a correctional psychiatric setting
- Observe and document patient behavior, responses, and changes in condition accurately
- Implement treatment plans under the direction of the clinical team and escalate concerns when needed
- Use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques to maintain safety for patients and staff
- Support daily living activities and therapeutic group sessions as directed
- Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to team goals
- Participate fully in the 2-week training to ensure competency with facility procedures
Qualifications
- Active California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential (required)
- Newly licensed LPTs are welcome—this role includes a structured 2-week training period
- Available to work the listed schedule (Sun, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) and flexible for training
- Comfortable working in a correctional facility environment and able to follow security protocols
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to documentation
Education
- Completion of an approved Psychiatric Technician program and active California LPT license
Knowledge & Skills
- Behavioral observation and accurate patient monitoring
- Crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with psychiatric care routines and therapeutic approaches
- Clear, concise documentation and charting practices
- Teamwork and effective communication with nursing and security staff
