Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents, focusing on safety and dignity
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor patient status, document changes, and communicate effectively with the care team
- Perform assessments and report concerns promptly to RN leadership
- Support admissions, discharges, and transitions with clear, patient-centered coordination
- Assist with wound care, IV support (if in scope), and other delegated clinical duties
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and mentor less experienced staff when appropriate
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — or willingness to obtain
- Experience in long-term care, med-surg, or similar clinical setting is a strong plus
- Ability to pass background and health screenings per facility requirements
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
Education
- Completed LPN diploma or equivalent vocational nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid medication administration and documentation practices
- Familiarity with patient assessment and care planning
- Comfortable with electronic charting and standard clinical equipment
- Good time management during busy overnight shifts
- Collaborative approach to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary communication
