Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient status, report changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document patient care and chart clearly in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to implement care plans
- Support resident safety through regular rounding and fall-prevention practices
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge preparations as needed
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of quality care
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN license (appropriate to the role) — active and in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — current
- Comfortable with medication administration, assessments, and documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a night team
- Previous long-term care or rehab experience is a strong plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and patient observation skills
- Medication administration and safe nursing practice
- Familiarity with wound care and chronic condition management
- Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Critical thinking, prioritization, and time management during busy shifts
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong teamwork
