Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely while monitoring patient responses
- Perform thorough assessments and document clinical changes in the care record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
- Support safe mobility, wound care, and restorative nursing interventions as needed
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and discharge goals
- Act as an advocate for resident safety, dignity, and quality of life during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Current LPN/LVN or RN license in good standing (New Mexico license or eligibility to obtain one)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications encouraged
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently during overnight shifts
Education
- Licensed Practical Nurse: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Registered Nurse: Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or BSN from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort with medication administration and monitoring for adverse effects
- Skilled in wound care basics and restorative nursing principles
- Proficient with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork during handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively during overnight changes
