Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely while monitoring patient responses
• Perform thorough assessments and document clinical changes in the care record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Support safe mobility, wound care, and restorative nursing interventions as needed
• Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and discharge goals
• Act as an advocate for resident safety, dignity, and quality of life during overnight hours

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN or RN license in good standing (New Mexico license or eligibility to obtain one)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications encouraged
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently during overnight shifts

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Registered Nurse: Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or BSN from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with medication administration and monitoring for adverse effects
• Skilled in wound care basics and restorative nursing principles
• Proficient with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork during handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively during overnight changes
