Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing services to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate long-term resident care
• Lead assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation to improve resident outcomes
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nurse managers to build a high-performing team
• Drive regulatory compliance and prepare the facility for surveys, inspections, and audits
• Develop and lead QAPI initiatives to continuously improve quality and safety
• Manage nursing department operations including staffing levels, documentation accuracy, and resource use
• Provide hands-on clinical leadership—teaching, coaching, and stepping in when resident care needs you
• Participate in facility leadership planning to align nursing goals with organizational strategy

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license required at time of submission
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• CPR certification required (document required)
• Infection Control Certification required (document required)
• 3-5 years of nursing experience (required); prior leadership/management in long-term care preferred
• Prior Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or equivalent leadership experience is a strong plus
• Experience with Matrix systems preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility submission requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred)

• Long-term care nursing best practices and resident-centered care
• Resident assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Regulatory compliance with CMS and state health department standards
• Quality assurance and QAPI program leadership
• Infection control principles and risk management
