Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pediatric nursing care across the continuum — assessment, treatment, and compassionate support for children and families
• Implement physician orders and clinical plans while following nursing policies and standards of care
• Perform clinical procedures and monitor patient responses, escalating concerns promptly and professionally
• Work independently and confidently in a regional referral center setting serving diverse populations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — from pediatricians to surgical and specialty services — to coordinate excellent patient care
• Document care accurately and maintain required certifications and training timelines

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
• Current, full and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico (Arizona state license NOT required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (maintain current)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (maintain current)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (maintain current)
• Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion within 6 months of hire
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a culturally diverse patient population

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric clinical nursing and patient assessment skills
• Experience with pediatric acute care and trauma stabilization
• Proficiency in life support protocols (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
• Comfort working independently and making sound clinical decisions
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to serve Native American populations (Navajo, Hopi, Southern Paiute)
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with inpatient and emergency pediatric care workflows
