Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide client-centered occupational therapy interventions in an outpatient setting to help patients regain independence
- Implement treatment plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist, documenting progress clearly and timely
- Use therapeutic activities and adaptive equipment to improve activities of daily living and functional goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure continuity for each patient
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive techniques, and community resources
- Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current COTA certification and active credentialing
- State licensure or ability to obtain Utah COTA licensure (licensure assistance may be available)
- Minimum clinical experience in outpatient therapy preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility requirements
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused, collaborative attitude
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent and COTA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in outpatient occupational therapy modalities and functional treatment approaches
- Proficient with clinical documentation and electronic health records
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and activity analysis
- Ability to develop and follow measurable goals and outcome-driven plans
- Good time management and caseload prioritization in an outpatient clinic
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient and team education
