Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using evidence-based assessment tools to identify communication and swallowing needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that drive measurable progress
• Provide direct therapy and consultative services to patients, families, and staff
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Educate caregivers and facility staff on strategies to support carryover and safety
• Maintain compliance with facility, state, and professional standards and documentation requirements

Qualifications

• Active Montana SLP license or eligible for Montana licensure
• Master's or clinically relevant graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA-accredited program preferred)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not required; willingness to pursue if needed
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required/preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and treatment of adult/pediatric communication and swallowing disorders
• Dysphagia management and safe feeding strategies
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) options
• Skilled in creating measurable goals and documenting functional outcomes
• Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and educating caregivers
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and responsive documentation practices
