Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with activities of daily living and help patients maintain dignity and independence
• Measure and record vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support patient mobility and safe transfers to reduce fall risk
• Document resident care accurately in the chart and follow care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control standards
• Collaborate with nurses and therapy staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Be an advocate for residents, listening to concerns and reporting them to the care team

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in Maine
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Ability to work nights and support a team-focused environment
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus but new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Successful completion of an approved CNA program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living and resident support
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Basic charting and documentation skills; EHR experience helpful
• Strong observational skills to notice subtle changes in condition
• Ability to follow care plans and work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
