Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care and observations clearly and timely to support continuity and quality of care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, building trusting relationships
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Travel CNA experience or previous long-term care experience is a plus
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet health screening requirements
- Comfort working a 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift and participating in every-other-weekend rotation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, professional attitude with a focus on patient dignity and safety
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, transfers
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Accurate charting and documentation
- Observation skills to identify changes in resident condition
- Effective verbal and interpersonal communication with residents and team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
