Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, preserving dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate observations to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Accurately document care and vital signs in the resident record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a warm, person-centered environment
• Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
• Participate in training and continuous improvement to sharpen your caregiving skills

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• State registration or licensure as required by Maryland regulations
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adult populations and those with cognitive or mobility challenges
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and person-centered approaches
• Basic skills in taking vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and team members
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Familiarity with basic documentation practices and electronic charting
