Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care to older adults
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Observe and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Accurately document care, observations, and resident responses
- Follow individualized care plans and adhere to infection-control and safety protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and communicate kindly with families and staff
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and a team-oriented approach
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and respectful elder care
- Skilled in basic ADLs, feeding assistance, toileting, and personal hygiene support
- Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and mobility support
- Clear, compassionate communication and strong teamwork skills
- Basic documentation and charting accuracy
