Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: Days to be confirmed, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care and companionship to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers following facility protocols
- Observe and report any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire per facility policy
- Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident-centered care and geriatric best practices
- Able to follow care plans and report changes accurately
- Basic infection control and safety procedures
- Comfort with documentation and charting in an organized way
- Compassionate approach to working with older adults and families
