Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Perform safe transfers and ambulation to support mobility and prevent falls
- Monitor resident condition and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Document care and observations accurately and on time
- Support a respectful, dignified environment that promotes resident independence
- Assist with meals, personal hygiene, and comfort measures while encouraging participation
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (must be valid for practice in New Mexico or able to obtain)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfortable working in a long-term care or rehab setting and collaborating with a care team
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to manage physically active shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, infection control, and wound observation
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
- Time management and dependable documentation practices
- Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment
