Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers using proper body mechanics
- Measure and record vital signs and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Support individualized care plans and participate in team handoffs
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Build rapport with residents and families, offering emotional support and clear communication
- Collaborate with nurses and therapists to deliver high quality, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- T-CNA credential or travel CNA experience is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar settings preferred
- Ability to work the scheduled early morning day shifts and to be reliable for assigned days
- Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Infection control and standard safety procedures
- Clear communication with residents, families, and clinical teams
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Positive attitude, patience, and a team-focused mindset
