Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics and lift techniques
• Observe, record, and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents at all times
• Assist with meal service and document intake as required
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families, preserving dignity and independence
• Work collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (T-CNA accepted) for the assigned state
• Active state certification/eligibility to practice in Maine
• Comfortable working a 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM day shift schedule, seven days a week coverage
• Reliable, professional, and able to pass facility-required background and health screenings
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain if required by the facility
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for resident-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing care skills — bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Vital signs measurement and accurate documentation
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Clear communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and a focus on resident dignity and comfort
