Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics and lift techniques
- Observe, record, and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents at all times
- Assist with meal service and document intake as required
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families, preserving dignity and independence
- Work collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (T-CNA accepted) for the assigned state
- Active state certification/eligibility to practice in Maine
- Comfortable working a 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM day shift schedule, seven days a week coverage
- Reliable, professional, and able to pass facility-required background and health screenings
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain if required by the facility
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for resident-centered care
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong basic nursing care skills — bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Vital signs measurement and accurate documentation
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Clear communication with residents, families, and the care team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Empathy, patience, and a focus on resident dignity and comfort
