Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, helping with bathing, grooming and dressing
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote independence and reduce fall risk
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support meal service and hydration, observing dietary instructions and meal plans
- Maintain clean, comfortable living spaces and follow infection control practices
- Document care activities clearly and accurately in resident records
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification recommended or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with activities of daily living
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility background and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with resident transfers, repositioning and safe lifting techniques
- Basic clinical observation skills — noticing changes and communicating them effectively
- Solid infection control and hand hygiene practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and teammates
- Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
