Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort overnight
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff to keep everyone safe
- Perform accurate documentation and maintain clear communication during shift handoffs
- Support a calm, orderly environment during overnight hours to promote rest and well-being
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to follow care plans and advocate for residents
Qualifications
- GNA certification required (Class: GNA)
- Ability to work the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Comfortable assisting with resident transfers and mobility needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation and handoffs
- Willingness to undergo standard background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant skills and experience with geriatric care
- Knowledge of safe patient handling and mobility techniques
- Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks during overnight hours and remain attentive
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
