Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Help with safe transfers and mobility support while promoting resident independence
- Observe and report changes in condition to nursing staff to ensure timely care
- Support mealtime and hydration needs, documenting intake and any concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe living environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, kind communication
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing aide skills and knowledge of activities of daily living
- Understanding of infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Ability to document care accurately and communicate changes to nursing staff
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for working with older adults
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
